“Two Against One” was the exquisite example of a filler episode that went down the drain and dragged us into the Boredomland. Some of the characters were slaughtered further, the doctors were walking around aimlessly, some showed up just to remind us that they are still somewhere around the hospital. The hospital looked more like a high school and the doctors were divided into junior and senior scholars playing with expensive toys, sneaking behind each others’ backs, dealing with their high levels of hormones, arguing over matters instead of solving them and some like Meredith and the pretty boy were more concerned about their gigantic ego. Obviously, the doctors have forgotten that Halloween was over. What’s more, this so called hospital hires employees based on their personal life experience.
Speaking of hiring new doctors, Callie Torres was the one tasked to perform a professional job interview with Owen’s new girlfriend. However, Dr. Torres was more interested in how the woman dealt with her divorce and what she did in her free time. All the personal questions didn’t seem to be just gathering some useful information for Owen. These doctors are always looking for answers from outsiders or patients and never learnt how to solve and deal with the problems on their own. Callie Torres seems to be one of those people, at least so far in the season. It was obvious that she was also busy mastering the act of ignoring the presence of her wife, who happened to be a colleague as well.
Now back to the question… where was Dr. Robbins? She just popped up now and then with a few lines, but what was rather disappointing, was the fact that there were two Peds cases and she wasn’t included in neither of them. However, we learnt that the sexy times between Dr. Robbins and Leah were awesome. Something that didn’t sound very convincing and combined with Arizona’s facial expression it was rather raising the shadows of doubts. What was even more disturbing was the fact that Arizona didn’t even know exactly how to define the status of her relationship with Callie. However, taking off the necklace doesn’t clarify it either, neither for her nor for us, while she kept the ring on.
So far, since the premiere of the season what we have been seeing is Callie and Arizona’s inability to establish any kind of proper communication. Their marriage and the entire relationship is hanging by a very thin thread, while one of them is busy finding herself and the other one is finding some other ways to cope with the mess. Nothing wrong with that, they are humans, they do their best, but the dark cloud keeps lingering over their heads and they can’t keep on pretending that it is not there. Maybe we should blame it on the writers who are pushing the characters further and further towards their breaking point.
Hopefully, the next big Callie centric episode will clear the air and provide us with some answers and the missing pieces from this Calzona marriage puzzle, because so far we have been left episode after episode with nothing but frustration, confusion and anger either at Callie, Arizona or both of them. Many of us are not happy about Arizona’s involvement with Leah and some even label her with bad words. The question is: if Arizona is a s*** then what do we call Meredith after she broke up with Derek? What do we call Cristina who used to sleep with her bosses and it’s kind of her signature? What do we call Callie who used sex as a coping mechanism?
As for Callie Torres, she probably has to look for answers on the cheating and her marriage not from the outside. Being cheated twice from two spouses has nothing to do with bad karma and usually it takes two to reach this point in a marriage.
Basically, Callie and Arizona reside in this so called grey area and everything between them is not entirely black or entirely white, there is not clean cut and things for them gotten incredibly hard mostly because of the lack of communication between them.
Meanwhile in the hospital:
• Bailey was set up on the mental path;
• Avery was trying to play Mark Sloan rather unsuccefully;
• Meredith and Cristina’s fight kept blazing around the hospital;
• April was fighting a battle with her hormones;
