Last Thursday’s Grey’s Anatomy episode started wrapping up a few loose ends with the current story lines and setting up the stage for the upcoming season finale and probably the early episodes of the next season. Through their stories the doctors show us every time that despite everything awful, despite that bad things happen, life can be beautiful. Its beauty can be found in the small things, the acts of kindness, the true friendship. Life can look beautiful even when one gets fired.
Bailey’s bubble boy story line came to an end, even a happy one, but not without some bumps on the road. She and Edwards rolled the dies and went all in, risking their careers. In the end, all was worth it. The boy lived. Life goes on for him.
After spending so many years around Arizona, Alex still has things to learn because somehow he is so used to the good way of making jackass moves without thinking twice. Once again Dr. Robbins showed him the value of friendship that she will be there for him as a friend as a mentor- “Arizona, I’m in trouble. I need help. And I help”.
Dr. Robbins wanted to ‘help’ one more person- her wife. After her OBGYN check- up, Callie Torres was left wrecked by the news. Due to adhesions she won’t be able to carry. The moment Callie ad Arizona shared in their bedroom was intimate and honest. The moment revealed how much they have grown up as a couple, how far they have come in understanding each other. Arizona understands how much Callie wants another child and there she is offering to carry a baby despite not feeling ready for it. Callie also showed understanding and acknowledged that Arizona still might not be ready to get pregnant again.
Yes, their life is now beautiful after all they have been through, but in both Callie and Arizona’s eyes was written that they want more. Even though they said that what they have is enough, their words sounded more like coming from someone in denial. This more will come in time. Callie tends to rush things. This time she is aware she can’t demand everything to happen right here and right now. Maybe it is a good thing they won’t be having baby any time soon. Both of them are still fragile and vulnerable, but they are getting stronger. For a second time this season Callie and Arizona exchanged the ‘I love you’-s.
And how could one not count when these words are rarely spoken from the characters.
Meanwhile in the hospital:
- Cristina was interviewing people for the head of cardiothoracic surgery position;
- Alex started bumping into walls at his new work;
- Bailey saved the bubble boy’s life but not without some consequences and the support from Stephanie;
- Leah was revealed as the resident who would leave the surgical programme at Grey Sloan Memorial hospital;
- Derek surprised Meredith with a proposition which she didn’t like at all;
