“Go It Alone” marked the long awaited Harper Avery Award ceremony and Dr. Yang’s eventual winning. Unfortunately, the award slipped through the brilliant doctor’s fingers. Around the hospital patients’ parents and doctors were sleep deprived for different reasons- worries over sick children, pulling long hour shifts and playing the role of double agent. Others, like Derek Shepherd went even further by juggling work and domestic duties. Of course, there were blessed doctors like Webber and Bailey who experienced the joy of sleep and less workload.
Among the lucky doctors who didn’t have to work were also Callie and Arizona. Unfortunately, their lucky date night didn’t last long and their plans went down the drain. The couple had to stay at home and babysit not one but three children.
The baby talk came up again, but this time the question was who was going to carry the child. Apparently, Dr. Torres had already made this decision in her head and made Arizona feel a little bit left out of something they should be deciding together.
However, Callie Torres sensed these vibes of unhappiness and obviously she was restless and unsettled since she brought up the subject again very early in the morning. So, to make things easier Arizona decided to listen to her gut feeling and it felt right to her if they simply flip a coin which would make the decision for them. We never learned the outcome- head or tail/ Callie or Arizona, because after Callie flipped the coin Arizona backed up and simply said that she would be happy if Callie carries their second child again.
Probably people were left slightly disappointed the way things unfolded. Let’s just hope that this won’t come back later and bite both Callie and Arizona in the ass. Let’s hope that this won’t be pointed out as an accusation in the next argument. But who knows, maybe the writers are jerking us around and they will twist and turn this and maybe, just maybe in the end Arizona may end up the one getting pregnant.
Meanwhile in the hospital:
• Dr. Bailey unleashed her inner genius in her efforts to treat the bubble boy;
• Alex was juggling the private practice and the hospital;
• Pretty boy and his crazy wife (Jackson and April) got involved into a huge argument regarding their future children’s upbringing; April ended up at Callie and Arizona’s door;
