“I’m winning” played the role of a sequel episode- ten days later after the bug party at the hospital. Meredith Grey’s voiceover described to us the experience of being nominated for the most prestigious surgical award by remembering her mother’s numerous nominations. What’s more we were able to see this big deal through the eyes of Dr. Cristina Yang. The writers stretched the patient stories out, put a few doctors to work together the same case and this way they managed to keep almost everybody busy.
What were the gorgeous wives up to?
Dr. Robbins was rounding the Peads floor with Cristina and spent the day fighting to save a child’s life.
Derek and Callie were testing their new machine which can read emotions. According to Derek’s machine it turned out that Callie Torres was depressed. Poor Derek, boredom was written down all over his face while Callie was trying to convince him how happy she was. What’s more, there is a simple solution for Callie’s depressive state- a baby. Though she tried to hint at her wife, the effort was rather unsuccessful and the subject was still close for discussion since Arizona’s miscarriage.
However, Callie wasn’t able to keep it in and she took a leap of faith. Impatiently she waited for her wife to finish work and made the statement. Apparently both of them, Callie and Arizona are still afraid to make moves and take steps after they got back together. But still they try to express their desires. The old wounds haven’t healed completely yet and this make both of them edgy and vulnerable, sets them in an attacking mode, just the mention of cheating causes arguing.
The scene outside the hospital was like a déjà- vu from season 6, the setting was different. The other thing different was Arizona’s response to Callie’s wish. Both of them have different reasons for wanting a second child, quite polarizing but totally making sense. Callie thinks baby are delicious, Arizona thinks Sofia doesn’t have to go alone through all the bad things when something happens to her or Callie. This is where their opposites meet and dissolve into each other and make this gorgeous couple even more gorgeous and beautiful.
Meanwhile in the hospital:
- Dr. Webber was trying to inspire the residents;
- Dr. Bailey kept trying to find a cure for the boy without immune system and stole a fancy surgery from Meredith in a very arrogant way;
- Crazy April found a new obsession- she acted more like a bookkeeper rather than a surgeon;
- Cristina’s greatness sparkled once again;
- Derek and Callie were testing a new machine that reads emotions;
- Alex decided to show his interest in the private practice;
